About Me

Hey I’m Nectar Madness. I’m passionate about Bipolar Disorder awareness and I am taking this opportunity to share my knowledge and experience as a person living with Bipolar Type 1. I was first diagnosed in 2000. I have been through the tribulations, the med cocktails, and the psych hospital. My experience has been with the highest highs and the lowest lows. I understand the seduction of mania, as well as the desperation of depression. I suffer from occasional psychosis and have made it through mixed states. Living with Bipolar is a daily process and I’m happy to endure this process with interested readers. My wife has been a strength in living with my disorder.

I’m eccentric, well educated, and I believe in using humor to get through every day life. Oh, and I tend to be a little sarcastic at times. I love poetry and write my own, which is featured on this blog. I’m also an advocate for the use of cannabis to treat various ailments, and will occasionally refer to it in my writing.

I have my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services – Mental Health, so I will share educational information on mental health topics as well.

Sometimes known as the Bipolar Lesbian, I’m a writer, an advocate, and a creative thinker.

Thanks for rolling on my coaster 🙂

  1. Hello Nectar. I hope this finds you doing well.

I see you have been a follower of “A Way With Words.” Great! Thank you.

We have now transformed into, “Delight in Disorder: Faith & Mental Illness” (delightindisorder.org). I hope you will join us there. On the left sidebar, there is a box (below “Get More Delight”) for subscriptions so you can get the most of our mission.

    Take care & God bless,

  2. It is always great to hear someone’s story and I’m glad I’m able to read about yours! I’m hoping when I feel more up for it to be able to finish off my book about my journey through depression and hope it can inspire others!

  3. I want to say a belated “thank you” for following “A Way With Words.” My joy in writing is only surpassed when people read what I’ve written.

While I write primarily about faith and mental illness, I am known to dabble in other essay topics as well as stories (fiction and non-fiction) and even poetry on occasion. If you have a request, feel free to contact me.

I appreciate what you are doing here documenting your own story of life with bipolar. I pray you are blessed as you bless others.
